About the Role:
Furniture Mart in Houma, LA is looking for an ambitious and driven Retail Manager Trainee to join our growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to launch your management career in a fast-paced retail environment where you'll learn the ins and outs of running a successful furniture store. If you're passionate about people, sales, and leadership, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Learn and support daily retail store operations under the guidance of experienced store management
- Assist in sales and motivating a team of sales associates to meet performance goals
- Deliver outstanding customer service and help resolve customer concerns on the sales floor
- Support inventory management, merchandising, and showroom floor presentation
- Participate in opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and store security protocols
- Complete structured management training program to prepare for a store leadership role
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred
- 1+ years of retail, sales, or customer service experience
- Strong leadership potential with a desire to grow into a management role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to learn in a structured training environment

Compensation: $38,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
